I have always been fascinated by one question: why do some people move forward after life’s hardest moments, while others stay stuck?
From a young age I found myself watching people. I noticed that two people could face very similar challenges, and one would go on to build a fulfilling life while the other lived with regret. I wanted to understand what made the difference.
Every person was another rung on the ladder
I was the middle child in a large family, with two much older sisters and two much younger siblings. Somewhere in the middle, I learned to find my own way.
Looking back, I often describe my life as climbing a ladder. Every person I met became another rung. I learned from mentors, teachers, colleagues, friends, and even strangers. I paid attention to the people who were living the kind of life I admired, and I asked myself one question: what are they doing differently? Then I applied those lessons to my own life.
Living it, not just believing it
That mindset has guided every chapter of my journey. Immigrating to Canada. Building my own accounting business. Helping build Magnus Law. Raising two incredible daughters. Running marathons. Writing a bestselling book. And eventually becoming a professional coach.
One principle has stayed with me through all of it: do not live with regret. Learn from yesterday, but do not stay there.
The mistake I made for years
For a long time I tried to help people by giving them advice. I genuinely wanted to see them succeed, and I would tell them exactly what I thought they should do. But I often walked away from those conversations frustrated, wondering why someone could not simply see what seemed so obvious to me.
Everything changed when I discovered professional coaching.
What coaching taught me
Through my coaching education at UBC and my training with the International Coaching Federation, I realized something that transformed not only the way I coach, but the way I see people.
My job is not to give people the answers. My job is to help them discover their own.
That single shift changed everything. Today I help people create a vision for the future, uncover their strengths, get clear on what genuinely matters to them, and take real steps toward a life that feels authentic rather than someone else’s definition of success.
What I believe now
I believe visualization matters. I believe goals matter. I believe purpose matters. Most of all, I believe every person already carries strengths, dreams and untapped potential inside them. Sometimes they simply need someone to ask the right questions, challenge their thinking, and believe in them until they start believing in themselves.
Whether I am working with a student choosing a career, a professional navigating change, or someone searching for a new direction, my goal is always the same: that they leave with more clarity, more confidence, and a future they are excited to create.
Because if I can help even one person discover their passion, find their direction, and build a healthier, more meaningful life, then I believe I have made the world a little bit better.
My passion is not helping people become someone else. It is helping them become more of who they already are.
